Position Title: Customer Service Representative

Department: Horizon Healthcare

Status: Full Time; Non-Exempt

Shift/Hours of Work: 40 hours per week (Monday-Friday) Alternating 8:30am-5pm and 9am-5:30pm

Nature of Work: The Customer Service Representative is responsible for welcoming patients, collecting, entering and maintaining accurate patient demographics and insurance records.  Schedules appointments, verifies insurance information, form completion and patient signatures are obtained.  Answers multi-line phone system and takes accurate messages, assessing the urgency of the message and routing to the appropriate staff person.  Collects patient payments. Confirmation calls are made one business day prior to appointment.  Assists Office Manager and clinical staff to sustain an efficient practice. Maintain organization and cleanliness of patient waiting area.  Timely and accurate work produced is vital.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:  High school graduate or equivalent.

Experience:  Previous medical software experience preferred.

Skills:  Previous medical office experience and/or strong customer relations experience preferred.  Medical courses are a plus. Team player willing to assist in meeting organizational goals. Excellent communication skills and customer-oriented in approach to others.  Experience with multi-line phone system, general office equipment, computer software programs including word processing, internet usage, and email preferred.
