FMH FOUNDATION SPORTING CLAY FUN SHOOT A SUCCESS - 2009-06-15

Fairfield Memorial Hospital Foundation held its Fourth Annual Sporting Clay Fun Shoot this past weekend at Lakewoods Flying Duck Sporting Clays in Cisne.  The event was to raise funds to help support the services, programs, and state-of-the-art medical equipment needs of the hospital.

 

Charlotte St.Ledger, Executive Director of the Fairfield Memorial Hospital Foundation, said, “We were very thankful for the community support, generous sponsorships, and shooting participants that made the Sporting Clays Fun Shoot a success.” 

 

The overall first place winner and First Lewis Class winner of the Fun Shoot was Caleb Collins; second place went to Mack Davis, third place went to Jerod Vaughn.  Second Lewis Class winners were Sam Leatherman – 1st Place, Jerry Mushro – 2nd Place, and Loren Kauble – 3rd Place.  The Third Lewis Class winners were Randall Marks – 1st Place, Pete Garza – 2nd Place, and Cole Matthews – 3rd Place.  The Super-Veteran’s Class Concurrent winner went to Jerry Mushro, Veteran’s Class winner went to Dr. Patrick Molt, Ladies Class Concurrent winner went to Kim Merrick, Sub-Juniors Class winner went to Cole Matthews, and Junior Class winner went to Brennan Unthank.  The Cowboy Shoot Winner was Neil Fearn otherwise known as “Backwater Bob.”  The Long Bird side game winners were Mack Davis and Clyde Mosby.  Splatter Board winners were Ron Weedon, Mike St.Ledger, Nathan Moore, Kim Heisner, and Shawn Stanley.

 

Pat Kenshalo, President, FMH Foundation, said, “We hope everyone enjoyed the event and invite everyone to participate again next year.”

 

The Sporting Clay Fun Shoot brought out many individuals from all over the state including three students, Sam Leatherman, Mack Davis, and Caleb Collins, who are members of the Southeastern Illinois College Game Preserve Management Program.  These three gentlemen are also members of the SIC Shooting Team, which is currently ranked 3rd in the Nation.  Mack Davis is this year’s team captain and is a National Junior Champion.

 

“We are energized to have more young people participating in our annual sporting clays event, and we welcome new shooters each year,” stated Charlotte St.Ledger, FMH Foundation Executive Director.
