FAIRFIELD MEMORIAL HOSPITAL UPGRADES TO DIGITAL RADIOGRAPHY

Technology changes occur regularly in healthcare and Fairfield Memorial Hospital consistently makes improvements to provide better quality to their patients.  One of the recent technology improvements was a change over to the use of Digital Radiography (DR), which provides near-immediate rendering of high-quality medical images, right at the point of care. Quick acquisition and instantaneous availability of clinical images has made Digital Radiography the gold standard for imaging of patients. In a fully digital environment, the physician can weigh in quickly on whether the images facilitate a certain diagnosis, as well. Digital Radiography also significantly reduces the time between exposure and image availability, leading to quicker diagnosis.

“What I love most about this technology is it provides quicker turnaround times for patients, as well as help monitor and reduce patient radiation dose.  It is exciting to have advanced technology to enhance the patient experience and safety,” stated Devin Deisher RT(R)(CT)(MR), Director of Diagnostic Imaging.

With new government legislation that encourages fully digital modalities, we made the transition from Computed Radiography (CR) to Digital Radiography to optimize workflow and provide state-of-the-art care. Patients, physicians and technologists reap countless benefits with this implemented Digital Radiography upgrade.
