FMH Foundation Donates $163,000 Toward A New Nurse Call System

Fairfield Memorial Hospital Foundation donated $163,000 toward the purchase of a new Hill Rom Navicare Nurse Call System. This system will benefit several departments including Med/Surg, Diagnostic Imaging, Laboratory, Cardiopulmonary, Surgical Services, and the Emergency Department.  The new system was needed due to the previous system no longer able to accept updates with the newest features available.  With this new system, there is a central monitoring station at the Medical Surgical nurses’ desk where the staff can answer calls.  This is a great way to ensure we are being most attentive to our patients needs and track quality of care to improve our patient satisfaction.  There are also substations on each end of the Medical Surgical Unit, Surgical Services, and the Emergency Department, which gives these departments the ability to answer calls.

“We are very grateful for the FMH Foundation and their support in aiding us in this purchase for a new nurse call system.  We are better able to address our patients’ needs with this enhanced technology.  We are also thankful for our Plant Operations staff who skillfully installed this new call system for us,” stated Katherine Bunting-Williams, Ph.D., FMH CEO.
