SALARY RANGE:           $60,000 - $100,000

NATURE OF WORK:

The Director of Community Relations of Communications is responsible for overseeing the implementation of both internal and external communication strategies. Their duties include managing external communication channels like social media platforms, company websites and media relations, memos, press releases, and adhering to a FMH’s brand by publishing content and marketing materials.

As the Foundation Executive Director, performs responsible administrative work planning, organizing, and directing fund-raising activities and obtaining support from the local community, private foundations and other sources for the Fairfield Memorial Hospital Foundation.

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A baccalaureate degree in business, the arts, communications, or healthcare administration with three to five years of experience or an equivalent combination of related education and experience, or experience in a financial position that lends toward knowledge of investments and financial analysis of programs.
  • Training and experience in interpersonal communications, human relations, or management; at least three years’ experience in the field of development with a proven track record of successful and significant fundraising.
  • Three to five years’ senior level management experience in health foundation management or comparable experience in another.
  • Experience developing community events and managing volunteers.
  • Understanding of community organizing, communications, marketing, and public relations.
  • Excellent social media and writing skills and the ability to create and edit short videos.
  • Must have basic graphic design experience using Canva and Microsoft Publisher plus knowledge of MS Office, Zoom, and TEAMS.

SKILLS:

  • Extensive knowledge of health care trends, public relations and development techniques.
  • Considerable knowledge of the local and surrounding communities within the service area and the people resources available to them.
  • Ability to handle multiple issues and projects in a matrix team approach, requiring significant consultation and collaboration with colleagues.
  • Ability to relate to trustees, physicians, businesspeople, private foundations, staff employees and patients.
  • Ability to write effectively and creatively and be an accomplished public speaker and participant in discussions and negotiations.

NATURE OF WORK: The Director of Revenue Cycle is responsible for the direction and leadership of operational and financial activities for Revenue Cycle, including provider enrollment, patient access, charge master, coding, health information management, billing of claims, payments, credit balance, collections of third-party payers, and self-pay management. This includes establishing, meeting and continuously monitoring the goals and objectives while maintaining alignment with the strategic goals and objectives for Fairfield Memorial and Horizon. While the range of duties and responsibilities is broad and varied, the position’s major responsibility is directing the day-to-day operations, budgeting, fiscal management, and human resource management. The Director works closely with a variety of stakeholders, coordinating the activities of the Revenue Cycle across the enterprise.

The Director of Revenue Cycle serves as the operational leader for Revenue Cycle and reports to the Chief Financial Officer. The Director of Revenue Cycle supports enterprise-wide projects and initiatives that relate to Fairfield Memorial and Horizon priorities, health care legislation and compliance, systems redesign, improve revenue, and/or reduced cost. This position also assesses personnel and fiscal implications of organizational changes; assists staff in the implementation of changes; monitors and analyzes the impact of change.

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field.
  • A master’s degree in business or healthcare administration is preferred.

 EXPERIENCE:

  • Four years of managerial experience in revenue cycle management with a hospital or closely related field.
  • Experience in a supervisory role.

KNOWLEDGE:

  • Knowledge of patient accounting principles.
  • Knowledge of medical
  • Proficiency with healthcare billing and coding process.
  • Extensive knowledge of all third-party payer requirements, human resources and regulatory and collection laws.
  • Knowledge of Healthcare regulations.
  • Knowledge of principles and techniques used in negotiation as applied to service contracts and equipment purchasing.
