FMH EXPANSION PROGRESS

Fairfield Memorial Hospital Expansion updates are used to keep the public informed as progress continues to be made on our Surgical Pavilion.

The FMH Expansion wrapped up the 1^st phase in June of 2022 which included the opening and fully operative Surgical Pavilion. With the completion of this phase the Surgical Pavilion was operating in full swing with a brand new ER, Urgent Care, Urology Clinic, Orthopedic Clinic, General Surgery Clinic, Pain Clinic, Skilled Care Unit, and two new Operating Rooms.

While patients were able to utilize the new services in a new building the expansion was far from finished. During Phase II the contractors were connecting the existing building to the Surgical Pavilion. Once completed it brought us to Phase III, the final phase before completion.

Phase III has consisted of remodeling and completing the Same Day Surgery space.  Currently, Surgery is operating with two OR’s and 8 beds and sharing a waiting room with Lab and Diagnostic Imaging.  Upon completion, the FMH Surgical Department will be equipped with 4 OR’s, 16 bed Same Day Surgery area, Endoscopy Suite, a brand new waiting room and nurses’ station.

When finished, the final phase of the expansion of the OR suites will allow for more specialized surgeries and a refined work flow. The waiting room will be more spacious and comfortable for patients. As the services continue to grow, so does our facility.

When entering the existing part of Fairfield Memorial Hospital you will notice a lot of construction barrier occurring to complete this phase. The estimated completion date for Phase III is June of 2023. We apologize for any inconvenience this construction may cause and we appreciate your patience as this work progresses.
