FMH EXPANSION PROGRESS
Fairfield Memorial Hospital’s weekly updates are here to inform our patients and community as the progress continues on our Expansion Project. We hope you find these updates informative as we work towards expanding our services to meet the growing needs of our community.
During the week of October 19th, the construction crew was able to finish setting sleeves and block outs through the floor openings for plumbing, mechanical, electrical and fire protection lines. Some other achievements made this week was completing the 1st floor underfloor slab for the plumbing drains, pour the remaining 1/3 of the 2nd floor deck, pour the first 1/3 of the 3rd floor concrete deck, begin the exterior stud work on the East wall, and finally complete the metal decking and welding of connections on the steel frame.
Fast forward to the week of October 26th you will expect to see the roof curbs for the mechanical roof top units being installed along with the installation of roof drains and roof penetrations. The crew will then pour the remaining portion of the 3rd floor concrete to finish up the 3rd floor concrete slab. As they finish up the 3rd floor they will then pour the 1st portion of 1st floor concrete slab on grade. While the concrete continues to be poured this week they will also continue with the work on the exterior studs. Work will also begin on the exterior of the building and will take approximately 4 weeks to complete.
