The American Red Cross is facing a national blood crisis – its worst blood shortage in over a decade, posing a concerning risk to patient care. Amid this crisis, doctors have been forced to make difficult decisions about who receives blood transfusions and who will need to wait until more products become available. Blood and platelet donations are critically needed to help prevent further delays in vital medical treatments. Fairfield Memorial Hospital will be hosting a blood drive on April 22nd, 2022, from 11:30am to 4:30pm as current inventories continue to remain at critical levels across the country.

“Fairfield Memorial Hospital is proud to partner with the American Red Cross for events such as these to bring extremely important resources to patients experiencing health crises. We’re doing our part by hosting blood drives to increase blood donations and ensure every patient can receive medical treatments without delay, but we cannot do it without more donors. We hope you consider joining Fairfield Memorial Hospital in this wonderful cause and come donate on April 22nd.” commented FMH CEO, Katherine Bunting-Williams.

A Blood Drive will be held at Fairfield Memorial Hospital’s Educational Annex Building at 203 Northwest 10th Street in Fairfield in the Red Cross Bus. The blood drive will be held on April 22nd from 11:30a.m to 4:30p.m. If you would like to schedule your appointment you can do so by visiting https://www.redcrossblood.org/give.html/drive-results?zipSponsor=62837 or you can call Shauna Williams, Marketing Director, at 618-847-8242.
