SALARY RANGE: $23.00 - $33.00

NATURE OF WORK:
Provides direct and indirect, as well as restorative, resident patient care under the direction of Registered Nurse. Assists residents with activities of daily living, provides for personal care, comfort and assists in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment for an assigned group of residents. Performs any combination of the following duties in care of patients in an extended care facility under the direction of nursing staff: Answers call lights, assists in bathing, dressing and undressing patients, serves and collects food trays, feeds patients, transports patients using a wheelchair or geriatric chair, assists patients in walking and transferring, turns and repositions bedfast patients, changes bed linens, takes and records blood pressure, temperature, pulse and respiration, monitors food and fluid intake and output, and cleans patient rooms.
EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing. Current licensure in the State of Illinois for practice as a licensed practical nurse. Current BLS certification or willingness to become certified within first three months.
EXPERIENCE:
- Preferred previous experience in a Skilled Nursing or Long-Term Care facility preferred. New graduates considered.
- Dementia training huge plus.
SKILLS:
Strong customer relations experience required. Team player willing to assist in meeting organizational goals. Excellent communication skills and customer-oriented approach to others. High level of professionalism and confidentiality, in compliance with HIPAA standards. Exemplary critical thinking skills and problem-solving skills required; ability to work independently as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
