Pulmonary Rehabilitation
Fairfield Memorial Hospital’s Outpatient Pulmonary Rehabilitation program provides monitored and supervised exercises for patients diagnosed with obstructive lung disease. Patients will be supported through a physical activity plan that is tailored to their needs. The exercise will help improve the patient’s endurance and muscle strength, so the patient becomes better able to carry out daily activities.
Pulmonary Rehabilitation can help individuals improve quality of life. It cannot cure lung disease; however, it can be a great benefit and individuals may notice fewer breathing problems. Pulmonary Rehabilitation can help decrease the symptoms of the disease or condition, improve an individual’s ability to exercise and function better in daily life.
A physician referral is required to start the program. For more information about Pulmonary Rehabilitation at FMH, patients can call 618-847-8256.
