HOURS:                               8:00am – 4:30pm, Monday - Friday

SALARY RANGE:               $24 - $36

NATURE OF WORK:

The office nurse plays a vital role in providing nursing support to the outpatient urology clinic through referral processing, patient work up, education, assisting with in-room surgery procedures, and coordinating care with other physicians and facilities. The outpatient urology office nurse completes physician orders and obtains medical information from the patient and outside sources to document intake information in the electronic health record to be used by provider for decision-making. Nurse enters patient’s health history at each visit with updates to medications, allergies, and family history. Educate patient, as needed, such as tests or procedures to be scheduled. Performs catheterizations and specimen collections for laboratory analyzation. Handles phone calls from patients, pharmacies, and other sources relating to orders, medical care, etc. Stock and maintain nursing supplies in the clinic. Work as a team with Surgeons, Advanced Practice Providers, Clinic Manager, Director, surgery clinic support staff and ancillary hospital departments to deliver exceptional care to patients. Cross trains to other specialty clinics for coverage of patient care as needed. Coordinates with key hospital departments and outside entities to handle the needs of the clinic and its patients including orders, referrals, obtaining outside records or accepting referrals, and scheduling appointments with patients. Timely and accurate work produced is vital. Follows best practices and standards in clinic. Demonstration accuracy with electronic health record data entry.

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:

Active Licensure as RN or LPN in State of Illinois.

EXPERIENCE: 

Urology and/or Office Nursing Experience Preferred.  Previous medical software experience preferred.

SKILLS:

Strong customer relations experience required. Team player willing to assist in meeting organizational goals. Excellent communication skills and customer-oriented in approach to others. Strong technical nursing skills.  Excellent attendance, punctuality and work record required.

NATURE OF WORK: The Director of Revenue Cycle is responsible for the direction and leadership of operational and financial activities for Revenue Cycle, including provider enrollment, patient access, charge master, coding, health information management, billing of claims, payments, credit balance, collections of third-party payers, and self-pay management. This includes establishing, meeting and continuously monitoring the goals and objectives while maintaining alignment with the strategic goals and objectives for Fairfield Memorial and Horizon. While the range of duties and responsibilities is broad and varied, the position’s major responsibility is directing the day-to-day operations, budgeting, fiscal management, and human resource management. The Director works closely with a variety of stakeholders, coordinating the activities of the Revenue Cycle across the enterprise.

The Director of Revenue Cycle serves as the operational leader for Revenue Cycle and reports to the Chief Financial Officer. The Director of Revenue Cycle supports enterprise-wide projects and initiatives that relate to Fairfield Memorial and Horizon priorities, health care legislation and compliance, systems redesign, improve revenue, and/or reduced cost. This position also assesses personnel and fiscal implications of organizational changes; assists staff in the implementation of changes; monitors and analyzes the impact of change.

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field.
  • A master’s degree in business or healthcare administration is preferred.

 EXPERIENCE:

  • Four years of managerial experience in revenue cycle management with a hospital or closely related field.
  • Experience in a supervisory role.

KNOWLEDGE:

  • Knowledge of patient accounting principles.
  • Knowledge of medical
  • Proficiency with healthcare billing and coding process.
  • Extensive knowledge of all third-party payer requirements, human resources and regulatory and collection laws.
  • Knowledge of Healthcare regulations.
  • Knowledge of principles and techniques used in negotiation as applied to service contracts and equipment purchasing.
