Fairfield Memorial Hospital has acquired a state-of-the-art ultrasound, LOGIQ E10, from GE Healthcare, which provides a remarkable level of ultrasound quality. Ultrasound, also known as sonography, creates images of internal body structures and organs for diagnostic medical purposes. Traditional ultrasound images are made by using sound waves traveling through the body. The LOGIQ E10 accounts for differences in body and tissue type and adjusts the sound processing in response to these differences. The result is that the image quality is noticeably better on practically all patients. Fairfield Memorial Hospital’s Diagnostic Imaging Team is able to provide more confident, accurate diagnosis as a result of the images using the technology of this system.
Healthcare quality and efficiency have become national issues. The Imaging Department at Fairfield Memorial Hospital has taken important steps toward improving both. The advanced software on this machine is what speed dial is to a telephone. Instead of pressing hundreds of buttons you simply press one button and the system responds in preprogrammed ways. Fairfield Memorial Hospital uses this efficiency to focus on more personalized patient care as they have consistently done in the past.
